NORTHUMBERLAND LOCAL PLAN CORE STRATEGY CONSULTATION
Housing, Employment and Green Belt Preferred Options
Northumberland County Council is currently consulting on the above Core Strategy document.
The consultation runs from 31 October 2013 to 2 January 2014.
As part of the consultation a number of drop in events are being held around the County. These will include a small exhibition and planning officers will be present from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. followed by a discussion session between 6.30 p.m. and 8.30 p.m.
An event is being held in Ponteland on Thursday 21 November at the Memorial Hall - see above times.
Anyone can attend the drop in session but you must register if you wish to attend the evening discussion session. You can register by e mail at email@example.com or ring 0845 600 6400.

The County Council are encouraging people to comment online via the above web address or comments can be made by post.

PONTELAND TOWN CENTRE SURVEY - YOUR VIEWS COUNT.
Ponteland Town Council
are currently working alongside Action for Market Towns (AMT) on a
Benchmarking Project. Benchmarking involves capturing data on 12 Key
Performance Indicators within the town centre such as retail offering,
footfall, car parking, business confidence, shopper origin and town
centre user views. The Benchmarking exercise will provide the Town
Council with a comprehensive report highlighting the strengths and
weaknessess of Ponteland, how the town centre could be improved,
examples of good practice and how the town fares against other towns of a
similar type across England and Wales.

ANNOUNCEMENT RE SKATEPARK - Please note work has now begun on the new Skate Park at Callerton Lane, adjacent to the existing play area. It is likely to be necessary to close this play area during that time for safety reasons. This will be for several weeks as there are also path and hedging works to be carried out. PTC apologises for any inconvenience caused.

Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 - Section 14
As Amended by Road Traffic (Temporary Restrictions) Act 1991
Temporary Road Closure - C358 North Road, Ponteland
For your information the County Council intends making an Order under the above Act to prohibit the use by vehicular traffic on that section of C358 North Road, Ponteland for 500 meters from its junction with the A696 in the County of Northumberland. Click Here
The Temporary Order is to be effective from the 28th of October 2013 until the 29th of November 2013.
It is expected that the road will only be closed from the 28th of October 2013 until the 31st of October 2013 between 09:00 and 17:00 hours.
The alternative route for north bound non-HGV vehicular traffic will be via Thornhill Road.
The alternative route for north bound HGV vehicular traffic will be via the A696, C354, C356 and Vice Versa.
The closure has been requested by Northumberland County Council in order to safely resurface the carriageway.
